Kitchen Renovation
2021- 2022
This space was the first priority for completion before moving in. Little did I know, I was in for more surprises than expected. Behind the plaster was termite damage throughout the pantry. There also was dry rot in some of the floor joist. Thankfully, I hired those projects out. After that, most of the work was mine to complete. I installed (one of the 2) windows, tiled the floors, installed and hung cabinets. I built floating shelves for the pantry and even modified upper cabinets to fit inside the narrow pantry space. I added open shelving in the kitchen and pantry to create more storage space that wasn't in the previous kitchen. I've since added small details like hanging baskets in the pantry and a small spice rack. I'm looking forward to making more updates to better fit my needs.

Dining Room
2021- 2022
There aren't many photos of the dining room yet because it currently serves as my work from home space and still needs many updates. I've refinished the floors and painted the walls...twice so far. I found a great yard sale hutch that I like but it may get a coat of paint. This space also shows off the stairs that have not been refinished at all. In fact, they still have the original carpet on them. I've peeked under to see the condition of the wood and I'm not ready to take on that project yet. Stay tuned for much more to come in this space.

Hallway
2021-2022
This space probably measures at 6x5 or something similar. It also still has the original plaster that was throughout the home. I never removed the plaster because it was in great shape with minimal repairs needed on cracked areas. There was also a closet with ductwork and no storage space. The most intriguing part about this area to me was the opening under the stairs that essentially was used as storage with one shelf inside. I turned this space into a linen closet of sorts with 4 pretty deep drawers. I textured the walls in a paint pattern inspired by interior designer Carmeon Hamilton. The art pieces I grabbed from TJMAXX. And the mirror I created using wood shims and spray paint! There is one situation that has to be addressed here and that is the light fixture. That needs to be updated and then the hallway will be complete!

Living Room and Entry Way
2021-2022
I've been waiting since closing on this home to complete my vision in this space. Just in time to roll in 2023, it is finally complete. While these areas were worked on and designed at separate times in 2022, the open floor plan called for the spaces to complement each other. I used pre-owned pieces I had on hand combined with new finds from Ikea, Etsy, Amazon, Target and more. The most exciting part about this space is the coffee table that I built using plywood and trim. Not to be forgotten are the curtains I painted by hand and the pop of yellow in the coat closet. I'll continue to add touches of detail in this space but in the meantime, I'll enjoy it as is.
